How to save a recipe from TikTok

Updated October 2026

You found the perfect pasta on TikTok, tapped save — and three weeks later it's buried under 400 other videos. Here's how to save TikTok recipes so you can find them again and cook from them without pausing a video every five seconds.

Try the free tool: TikTok recipe to text →

Save it inside the app

  1. Tap the bookmark

On the video, tap the bookmark (Favorites) icon on the right side. The video is now in your Favorites.

  2. Add it to a collection

Tap "Manage" on the pop-up (or long-press the bookmark) and add the video to a collection — create one called "Recipes" or "Dinner ideas".

  3. Find it later

Go to Profile → the bookmark tab → Collections, and open your recipe collection.

Keep a copy outside the app

  1. Copy the link

Tap Share → Copy link and paste it into your notes app with the dish name, so you can search for it later.

  2. Write down the recipe

Pause on the ingredients, check the caption and comments, and write the amounts and steps down — or screenshot the frames that show them.

Why saved recipes still get lost

  • TikTok collections can't be searched by ingredient, so "what can I make with chicken?" means scrolling everything.
  • Ingredients are often only spoken in the voice-over or flash on screen for a second.
  • If the creator deletes the video or makes it private, it disappears from your Favorites too.
  • Cooking from a video means pausing, rewinding and unlocking your phone with floury hands.

FAQ

Can the creator see that I saved their TikTok?
No. Creators can see how many times a video was saved, but not who saved it.
What happens to saved TikToks if the video is deleted?
It disappears from your Favorites and collections. If you love a recipe, keep the ingredients and steps somewhere outside TikTok.
Can I search my saved TikTok recipes?
Only by collection name — there's no search inside Favorites. Naming collections by meal type helps a little.
Is there an app that turns a TikTok link into a written recipe?
That's exactly what we're building with Mixova: paste a TikTok link and get the ingredients and steps written out. It's coming soon to Android — leave your email below and we'll write on launch day.
